Last month, right-wing darling at the Hoover Institute release his newest book, "The Enemy At Home: The Cultural Left and It's Responsibility for 9/11", in which he essentially states he agrees with Osama bin-Laden, and that he understands why the terrorists attacked us on 9/11.
Now, we have right-wing TV pundit Glenn Beck [ur=http://www.prospect.org/weblog/2007/02/post_2894.html#015614]signing up for the Blame America First parade[/url]!
According to both, those poor, poor Islamofascists are so horrified by the terrible liberal culture here in America, they can't help themselves! They have to attack us before we spread our horrible, evil culture to their parts of the world! And, like D'Souza, Beck makes clear he understands and agrees with the poor oppressed Islamofascist terrorists!
Here are Beck's own words:
Quote:
You know, there`s a new poll out that Muslims, the higher educated Muslims in the Middle East are more likely to be extremists? More and more Muslims now hate us all across the world, and it really has not a lot to do with anything other than our morals.
The things that they were saying about us were true. Our morals are just out the window. We`re a society on the verge of moral collapse. And our promiscuity is off the charts.
Now I don`t think that we should fly airplanes into buildings or behead people because of it, but that's the prevailing feeling of Muslims in the Middle East. And you know what? They`re right.
So what does Beck want to do? Establish an American Tabliban to enforce pure moralistic requirements on all of us? As determined by him, or others on the far right?
After all these years of attacking liberals who
disagree with Bush as being pro-terrorists, isn't it interesting how silent the wingnut media is about two of its own openly saying they agree with the terrorists?
Kevin Drum, at
Washington Monthly online points out these arguments are especially appealing to conservatives today because it perpetuates a current theme amongst wingnuts: "they hate us for our freedoms"! And if they hate us for our freedom, it means they
don't hate us for the actions we've taken in the MidEast!
